Severe Storms Today?

Well, the warm weather we have been having today and the sun popping out through the clouds may mean some severe storms later today. The SPC has us under a SLIGHT risk for severe weather. The storms will develop along a cold front over PA, Maryland, and Virginia. Be prepared for some gusty winds and maybe some hail. The SPC has put parts of South Jersey under a 2% risk for tornadoes. After the cold front moves through, temps will drop. Temps will be in the 50s for Monday and back to the 60s on Tuesday with mostly sunny skies.

Rainy but Warm Weekend, Storms?

Rain is currently falling throughout South Jersey as a system brings a bit of relief to some dry conditions. Not much rain, but enough to dampen your evening.

Tomorrow will be MUCH nicer with mostly sunny skies and highs in the lower 60s. Rain will move back in Friday night and during the day Saturday. Rain will pick up Saturday night and a few thunderstorms may accompany it. The rain and thunderstorms will taper Sunday afternoon. Highs will be in the upper 50 on Saturday and lower 60s for Sunday.

Mount Redoubt, a volcano in Alaska, erupted Sunday. The ash though has not affected the city of Anchorage. The picture to the left is a web cam of Redoubt with steam coming out. For more information go to this link: http://www.avo.alaska.edu/activity/Redoubt.php.

Chilly Night Tonight

It's the first day of Spring but it doesn't seen like it. It seems like winter. Some sleet and flurries mixed in with the rain today. Temperatures tonight will get into the 20s in the Pines to near 30 along the beaches. There may be some frost tomorrow morning.

Saturday will be a bit better with highs around 50. Sunday will be the best of the weekend with mostly sunny skies and temps near 60.

NOTE: Sorry, I didn't get a Video or 7-Day out today. I will try to get it out tomorrow.

Bye Bye Winter, HELLO SPRING!

I myself love winter and snow, but I am very excited about spring. Spring is not cold but not too warm. It is just right. Except for tomorrow. Spring begins tomorrow at 7:44am and it will be a cool spring day with highs in the upper 40s to around 50. The cold front that moved through today cooled us down and also brought some showers. Friday night will be nothing like a spring night with lows in the upper 20s! Yeah that's right. Upper 20s!

The weekend will be a bit better with highs around 50 on Saturday and the upper 50s for Sunday. Skies should be sunny both of those days. Next week will also be nice with mostly sunny skies and highs in the 50s. The next chance for rain may be Wednesday with a cold front.

I don't see any more wintry precipitation so I declare winter over. I will go over how we did this weekend.

By the way, Rita's Water Ice is giving away free small water ices tomorrow all day for the first day of spring. Head on over and get your free water ice. For more info, go to http://www.ritasice.com/.

Showers South Today

Showers and sprinkles will make a wet Sunday. This cam is off the Cape May beach showing a wet lighthouse. Rain last night was part off a weak disturbance. Another weak area of low pressure to our south should move off the coast today, but some showers and sprinkles or even sleet pellets should stick around for today. The farther south you go, the better chance you have of seeing a shower. Highs around 50.

Yet another weak disturbance will stay to our south for Monday, but still may give us some showers of sprinkles Monday afternoon. Highs again around 50.

Or, you could just say Monday will be alot like Sunday.

Wet Weekend

A wet weekend is setting up here in South Jersey!

Light rain and drizzle started as some sleet this afternoon. The drizzle will contimue tonight and become more wide-spread later tonight. Round 2 will come tomorrow afternoon. More showers and light rain will move into the area and the rain may be steadier.

There will be some more showers on Monday and skies will clear for Tuesday. Highs will be around 50.

Flurries/Drizzle Tonight

An area of low pressure down south should move off the coast south of us tonight, but may bring some drizzle or maybe even a flurry to southern parts of South Jersey this evening. More rain will move north tomorrow. Check out the Video Forecast for the full forecast.

Videos go to HD Friday!

Hi Everybody! Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Busy weekend at the Poconos! I am working on a few new things for the website:
  1. Videos go into HD this weekend! You have to have HD on your computer to view the video in HD. If you don't have HD you can still view the videos.
  2. We are also re-doing our blogs and we are coming out with a new blog network. This is a work in progress, so I don't really know when I will get it out.
  3. I am also coming up with some new ideas for summer and beach weather. More on that later this spring.
